First thing to acknowledge is that when I looked at my list for this week, I felt overwhelmed. Me planning this out a week ago had high hopes and big dreams. The actual me crashed out.
Despite all of that, I’m still planning to get things done this week. I have a list of new things being made plus new items for the Etsy shop. Not to mention videos I’ll be working on. I think that I should’ve started making the videos much sooner because I forgot about the amount of time that it takes to edit and prepare those. The goal this year. Well, the BIG GOAL this year is to grow my business. I don’t want it to be a side hustle. I want it to be my hustle. Not just something I do on the side. I don’t want it to be a hobby, either. And despite what all the gurus out there try to convince you, it takes work and dedication. Nothing happens overnight.
While talking with coworkers who are thinking about what they could do on the side, I told them that I wish I had known back in 2019 all the things that I now know. I learned lessons the hard way. My successful Etsy business fell to pieces by listening to bad advice and making even worse decisions. I spread myself too thin by trying to grow too fast. It’s not easy. You see successful people out there that you want to emulate, but in the end, your success won’t be the same.
Right now, I can’t grow in the way that I would love to, but I can start somewhere that fits just right. My just right might not be someone else’s just right, but that is okay.
I’m also headed in the right direction with my weight loss goals. I’ve finally found the magic key to success with that, too. I do hope to share more about that in the future, but right now, I’m just taking things a step at a time. I see my doctor on the 8th, so I’ll have more to share after that visit.
I may not have huge updates on how I’m tackling my 2026 goals, but just know that if you suddenly feel overwhelmed, step back and reassess. It’s not about doing it all in one month, one day, or one week. It’s about doing it in a year, and knowing at the end of the year if things didn’t turn out exactly like you wanted it to, examining it and asking yourself, “How close did I get?” Follow through. Push on. Keep going.
