I sat down this past week with my brand new Happy Planner and made out my list of goals for 2026. I have a huge list of things that I want to do: a bucket list, if you will. I can’t cram all of that into a list of things for one year. Most of those things are incidentals and not necessarily things you plan to do. The things you can plan for are usually added to my yearly goals, or things that can be broken down into smaller things because the goal is one that will take longer than a year, those things are added. Anyhow, I had a new planner and a new goal list for the year.
Goals are generally broken down into categories: Health, business, finances, personal, etc. Under each one, I try to limit it to 5. Why 5? It feels more manageable. I may have 30 things that I want to accomplish under places to visit, but I can’t financially afford to do that, nor do I have the time to do that. So I feel like 5 is the max, even though places to visit this year would only be one or two.
I’ll list my goals below in just a moment, but first I want to talk about how I plan to fit these things into my year. The way that my Happy Planner is laid out, I have a Priorities for the month section. An Important section and a Take Note section. All Priorities (3 each month) come from my Yearly Goals. Either the overarching (Personal, Business, Finance) or an individual goal from one of those. You have to work those goals. Everything has to lead to the achievement of the goal or progress toward the goal. Important is where I break down some smaller steps that are important to reaching the goals, and the Take Note section breaks that down smaller, or I set some time frames, or I list things that I have to remember. These things are at the beginning of each month.
For each week within the month, you have a Priorities list (think about what to accomplish to achieve the goals, an Important section (the big things to reach a goal), a Looking ahead (preparation for a month or weeks ahead), and a Notes section. I use my Looking ahead to prep for holidays (business) and bill reminders (financial).
What are my goals for 2026?
2026 is about going after what I want. I lost a lot during 2025. This is about taking back my dreams and not about holding on and just being along for the ride.
Business goals:
- 200 products on Etsy (if I reach it, I’ll raise it)
- Posting weekly on Social Media
- Blogging consistently 2x/week
- Weekly YouTube videos
- 1000 sales
- 200 Newsletter subscribers
Health:
- Lose 50 pounds
- Exercise regularly
- Get off my diabetes meds
Personal:
- Use a budget religiously
- Take a vacation
- Get a passport (I’ve never had one)
- See a concert
- See a play
I do plan to blog about my goals throughout the year. I will do quarterly updates on progress. This is to keep me accountable. I’ve already planned out my entire year of blogging content, and I allowed myself room that if something happens and I want to throw in a random blog, I can.
With that said, if you want to help me reach one goal, you can always sign up for my newsletter. Be a part of that 200 subscriber goal! Plus, you’ll get a coupon code you can use to save 20% off your next order on either Etsy or in our store here.
