We sell a lot of HTV items in our shop, and we want you to know that purchasing these items is safe, and they can last a long time with a little care.

HTV is the acronym for Heat Transfer Vinyl. It is a vinyl design that can be adhered to any garment using a heat press that combines heat and pressure to adhere the vinyl permanently to the fabric. Because of the method of adhesion and the vinyl, certain precautions do need to be made to make sure that your purchase lasts.

Washing is perfectly safe and is something that we do recommend. You just need to make sure that you turn your garment inside out so that the design is not in contact with other items in the wash. We do recommend that you wash your garment in cool water to prevent any color fading. Sometimes hot water has a tendency to not only leech color out of an item, but to set it permanently, as well.

Also, you can tumble dry your garment on a low setting or hang to dry. You can even lay it flat to dry on a garment rack. This is perfectly acceptable.

The one thing to remember is that heat is the enemy. Heat will dry out the vinyl and cause it to crack over time, so as long as you don’t wash and dry with a hot temp you will be fine. If your garment is wrinkled, iron at a low temp and be sure to use a press cloth to protect the garment and the vinyl design.

By following these directions, your purchase should last for a long time.
